Free the Press 2016 - 5th Annual Campaign
Journalism is not a Crime
The U.S. Department of State launched its fifth annual “Free the Press” campaign on April 26 as part of its efforts to mark the importance of a free and independent media in the days leading up to World Press Freedom Day on May 3. This year, the fifth anniversary of the campaign, the Department will highlight journalists and media outlets that we have identified in previous years that were censored, attacked, threatened, imprisoned, or otherwise oppressed because of their reporting whose situations have not yet improved. We will also highlight troubling trends in the persecution of journalists worldwide.

Le journalisme n’est pas un crime
Le Département d'Etat américain a lancé sa cinquième campagne annuelle “Free the Press“ le 26 avril dans le cadre de ses efforts pour souligner l'importance des médias libres et indépendants à l’approche de la journée mondiale de la liberté de la presse qui sera célébré le 3 mai prochain. Cette année, le Département d'Etat mettra en évidence des journalistes et des médias, identifiées au cours des années précédentes comme étant censurées, attaquées, menacées, emprisonnées ou opprimées autrement en raison de leurs publications et dont les situations n'ont pas connu d’amélioration. On soulignera aussi les tendances inquiétantes dans la persécution des journalistes dans le monde entier.
